Jarid "The Iron Man" Vollmer Ready for World Finals
In 2012 Jarid Vollmer was given the nickname "The Iron Man" by NHRDA founder Randy Cole for his willingness and imitative to drive literally from one end of the USA to the other, and races in Canada on the NHRDA event circuit. He also happens to be a world class engineer for Bully Dog Technologies in American Falls, Idaho.
The 2014 season has been no different. Jarid "The Iron Man" Vollmer's team has logged many miles on his Bully Dog transporter in pursuit of the 2014 NHRDA Pro Street Championship. The two time national champion is currently leading the NHRDA point's chase, and is looking for his 3rd National Championship trophy in the Pro Street category. He has also collected an impressive six wins in ten races this year.
"I couldn't do this without the help of our sponsors", said Vollmer. "They've stepped up and done a great job. Bully Dog, Diesel Pros, Pat Dill at Mountain High Performance Diesel, Brian at RKL Diesel, Chase and Brayden at Fleece Performance, Cameron at Red Line Synthetic Oils.", he continued.
"Nick Adamson helped with fabrication and build of the truck, Theo Harmison too. Without those guys it's really hard to be able to chase the points, they are a very important part of the team. It would be impossible without those guys."
Jarid has come close to resetting the current national record during the year, which he currently holds with a 8.816 at 159.38 mph set in 2013 at Indy, but so far a new record has eluded the team. When asked about going for the record at the World Finals next week he commented - "It's always nice to set records, but we're trying to keep the truck together to get it from event to event. But this is our last event of the year competition-wise, so we're going to turn it up a little bit and see what we have. If we can reset the record that would be great, but winning the world trophy would be even better."
Jarid's strategy for winning is simple - "Just stay calm, and pace yourself. Everybody else is out there to do their best, and we're out there to do our best also. Just make sure we come prepared."
"It's a great feeling to know anyone from anywhere, even South Eastern Idaho, small town, big town, west coast east coast can go out there and have a chance to be that guy to set the records, to be there and have the opportunity. I have to thank Bully Dog for the opportunity to push this race program.", he continued.
"Bully Dog has been a great supporter of the racing industry. They approached me about taking the racing program a little further and gave me the opportunity. It's been a great run. This is our 4th year now, and it's gotten better and better, and more precise, and it would be really great to me to take home a championship for them."
