NHRDA Announces 10.90 Index Class




08 Jan 2015 Marysville, WA - We are going to try out a 10.90 Index class this year and if we get a good competitor response at each event, we will then add it to the national points series in 2016.  We are looking for some suggestions for a class name and also any feedback from competitors that are going to compete in this class during the 2015 season

Proposed rules for the 10.90 index class

NHRDA 10.90 Index Class Abbreviation - TBA
 

o Heads-Up class with 10.90 Index

o 4/10ths Pro Tree

o Pro ladder by closest to the 10.90 index without going under

o Lane choice by closest to the 10.90 index without going under

o Auto Start on

o Must have a current NHRDA membership, competition number and class abbreviation on vehicle

o NHRDA and MBRP Diesel Drag Race Series decals must be displayed on both sides of the vehicle and be in plain view

o All Exhaust must exit up and away from vehicle

o Vehicle must be certified to run 11.49 seconds and faster

o NHRA and/or IHRA approved roll bar and SFI 45.1 roll cage padding required

o Fuel cells are permitted and do not have to be mounted in stock location ( Fuel cells must be SFI 28.1 or 28.2 certified)

o Battery(s) that are not forward of OEM Firewall, but must be mounted in an approved box.

o Master electrical cutoff required if battery is moved from non-OEM position. (Cutoff must be located at the rear of the vehicle and outside of the body)

o Auto Trans reverse lockout and neutral safety required on Auto Trans

o Working taillight required. Flashing ,blinking , or strobe lights prohibited

o Liquid Overflow required

o Steel valve stems in all tubeless tires required

o Drive line loop required

o SFI 1.1 or 1.2 Flywheel / Clutch required

o SFI 6.1, 6.2 or 6.3 Bellhousing or 9.1 Flywheel shield required

o SFI 3.2A/1 jacket required (Jackets must have NHRDA patch on left or right chest)

o SFI Spec 16.1 or 16.5 driver restraints required

o Helmet Certified to SNELL 2005 or 2010 standards, or certified to SFI Specs 31.1/2005, 41.1/2005, 31.1/2010 or 41.1/2010 required if running 13.99 or quicker

 

IF RUNNING 10.99 seconds or quicker

 

o SFI 4.1 Transmission Shield required

o SFI 18.1 Harmonic Balancer required

o Roll Cage and SFI 45.1 roll cage padding required with altered floor plans or non-OEM firewall (SFI 27.1 window net then required)

o Auto trans locking-type dipstick required

 

IF RUNNING 135 mph and faster

 

o Must have a current NHRA chassis certification for 9.99 or 135 mph and faster

o Must have a current NHRA license for 9.99 or 135 mph and faster

o Full Face Helmet (Must have helmet meeting Snell SA2005, K2005, M2005, SA2010, SAH2010, K2010, M2010 or SFI 31.1/2005, 41.1/2005, 31.1/2010 or 41.1/2010 specs) required

o SFI 3.2A/5 Jacket and Pants required

o SFI Neck Collar 3.3 required

o SFI Gloves 3.3/5 required

o SFI Boots or shoes 3.3/5 required

o SFI 29.1 Flexplate / 30.1 Flexplate shield (AT equipped cars) required

o SFI 45.1 Roll cage padding required

o SFI 27.1 Window Net required

o Master Electrical Shutoff required (must be located at rear of vehicle and outside the body)

o Parachute required running 150 mph and faster
