Mid West Truckin Nationals Results
17 May 2014 St. Louis, MO - After heavy rains on Friday, the 1st Inaugural NHRDA Mid West Truckin Nationals enjoyed a day of sunny skies and great racing at Gateway Raceway. In Top Diesel Jared Jones carded for the first six second pass of the 2014 season during qualifying, a 6.94 ET with a best ever 217.53 mph. Jones defeated Jeff Dean in the final round, after Dean broke on the starting line.
Pro Stock saw Ryan Milliken's win streak in the MRBP Dirty Max continue, he qualified number one with an 8.56 at 152.35, then went 8.91 at 150.48 mph to defeat Iron Man Jarid Vollmer's Bully Dog Dodge in the final round. In Pro Street Jarid Vollmer extended his points lead with his 3rd win of the 2014 season, he ran a single run 8.98 in the final after Chris Calkins broke. In Super Street Ryan Milliken got the double-double event win done this time, with his 2nd win of the event, his Dodge ran 10.21 133.46 mph in the final after Hunter Smith broke.
Bolivar Missouri's Carl Rude was the winner in BD Power Super Diesel running a perfect 11.90 on the 11.90 index to defeat runner-up Gaylon Tarkington's GMC in the final round. And Sportsman points leader Trey Sikes claimed another win in Strictly Diesel Sportsman with his 2010 VW Jetta Wagon defeating Matt Cline's 2009 GMC Sierra in the final round.
In the Petroff Companies sponsored Sled Pull competition Brad Deeter carded the best pull of night in the NHRDA classes with a 281.03 foot pull to win the Super Stock title. Not to be outdone Josh Deeter won in the 3.0 class with a pull of 258.05 in his 1995 Dodge. The 2.6 class winner was Kindra Rauch who came all the way from Billings, MO with a pull of 265.09.
The burnout was won by Wentzville MO resident Chris Klott's 2004 Dodge, and Jeff Young's 2008 Dodge 2500 was the fan favorite to win the Show-N-Shine competition.
The NHRDA MBRP Championship Series next moves to Denver Colorado for "Diesels On The Mountain", a two day event to be held at two locations. The Sled Pull competition will start things off on May 30th, 2014 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. On May 31st the Drag Racing, Dyno Competition, Show-N-Shine and Burnout contest will take place at legendary Bandimere Speedway. Check the website for full details and location information.
