NHRDA Hits Sunny California

19 Apr 2018 Marysville, WA - The NHRDA rolled into sunny California for the Nor Cal Diesel Nationals at Sacramento Raceway this past weekend. Competitors and fans were greeted with great weather and great action all weekend long.

 

The event kicked off Friday night with the sled pulls. In the Pro Stock class presented by South Bend Clutch, Albert Mendes and The Dodge Father entry took the win with a distance of 318.78 feet. The Limited Pro Stock class saw a season high eight entries in the class. At the end of the night it was Tyler Brownlee taking home the win with a 310.65 foot pull in his Panda entry.

 

In 2.5 it was Brandon Robinson going home with the trophy after a distance of 237.59 feet. The biggest class of the night was Work Stock with over 13 entries. Austin Elsmore and the Yeti were crowned the winners with a distance of 268.71 feet.

 

The winner of the Hot Farm Tractor class was Jon Speelman with a distance of 283.04 feet. The Pro Mod 4X4 winner was Robert Griffin with a pull of 278.30 feet. Clarence Correia and the Git R Done Multi Engine tractor got the win with a pull of 297.68 feet.

 

Saturday was the second round of the Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Drag Racing Series. The sun was out all day and the fans were treated to a great day of diesel racing action. In the Pro Stock class presented by G & J Diesel, J.P. Libert took home his first ever NHRDA trophy after going 8.601 seconds at 165.66 mph.

 

In the Super Street class presented by PPE, Adam Aquino was the big winner when he got to the final round for the first time. The Sportsman winner was Clint Carter taking down Cole Benitez in the final round.

 

Ron Clifton drove all the way from Oklahoma and was rewarded with the win in the Big Rig Bracket class. The 10.90 Index class saw crowd favorite Larry Strawn and his '31 Fodge get the win.

 

Scott McKinstry got his second win in a row in the Super Diesel class presented by ARP. Scott will now look to his home race, the Texas Diesel Nationals, to make his move for the Super Diesel National Championship.

 

The fans in Sacramento saw some great action in the Show N Shine Competition, at the Dyno and during the Burnout Contest presented by Diesel Performance Specialties.

 

The NHRDA now heads to the Texas Motorplex for the Texas Diesel Nationals on April 27th & 28th Make sure you catch all the action live on Diesel TV.
