Nor Cal Diesel Nationals a Battle With Mother Nature
12 Apr 2017 Marysville, WA - The 2017 Nor Cal Diesel Nationals was a fight between Mother Nature and the NHRDA all weekend long. Mother Nature won the battle on Friday as the sled pulls had to be called off after an inch of rain came down in a torrential down pour late in the day. The Sled Pulls were rescheduled to Saturday after the Drag Racing.
On Saturday morning everyone woke up to the sun shining outside and blue skies. The gates were opened and the track crew got the track ready to go but after only a couple of pairs of Sportsman trucks, the rain began to fall putting the event on a weather delay. But once the rain stopped the NHRDA and the Sacramento Raceway staff got the track dry and went back to racing around 2 pm.
Unfortunately the Sled Pulls had to be canceled due to the rain delay on Saturday as there was no way to get the sled pull track ready and it was still just too wet. The Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Drag Racing Series was completed as planned Saturday afternoon after the rain delay.
The NHRDA will now head to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas for the Texas Diesel Nationals on April 21st and 22nd.
