31 Aug 2017 Marysville, WA - The NHRDA Big Sky Truck Fest presented by G & J Diesel was a record setting weekend of diesel action at Yellowstone Drag Strip in Billings, Montana. The fans and racers witnessed 3 new NHRDA World Records set on Saturday afternoon in Super Street and Hot Rod Semi and were treated to some great sled pulling on Friday night.

The event started off Friday afternoon when a small thunder storm moved into the area about an hour before the truck and tractor pull was supposed to start. The storm brought rain and wind to the track taking down banners and easy ups all over the property. But once the storm blew thru the NHRDA Sled Pull track crew didn't take long to get the sled pull track up and ready to go.

In the Super Stock class, Tim McKenzie grabbed the win. The Pro Stock class presented by South Bend Clutch saw Jessie Gillespie take home the trophy to Glendive, Montana with him. Scott McCarren and his entry from Bismarck, North Dakota was the winner in the Limited Pro Stock class. Colby Swanson took his truck Wild Anytime to the winner's circle in the 2.5 class and Dalton Herden won the Work Stock class.

Saturday, the Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Drag Racing Series hit the track. Dawna Kraus took home her third Top Diesel win in a row and she now has a commanding lead in the National Points. Jarid Vollmer and the MBRP/G & J Diesel grabbed another victory in the Pro Stock class. In the Pro Street class Mike Skinner got the win. Jared Delekta not only got the win in the Super Street class but also set a new NHRDA World Record in both ET and MPH. Verlon Southwick took the win in both the 10.90 Index class and Sportsman Diesel. Joey Sterkel got the win the Super Diesel class presented by ARP. Gord Cooper double-up in both the Hot Rod Semi class and Big Rig Bracket. He also set a new MPH World Record in the Hot Rod Semi class.

The NHRDA heads to the Texas Motorplex for the 2017 NHRDA World Finals on September 29th & 30th. The event will feature the top competitors in the Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Drag Racing Series and the NHRDA Diesel Sled Pulling Series battling for the title of World Champion.
