The NHRDA Diesels on the Mountain Hit Bandimere Speedway!
14 June 2017 Marysville, WA - The NHRDA Diesels on the Mountain thundered into Colorado on June 10th at Bandimere Speedway. The racers and spectators were lined up early waiting for the gates to open. With temperatures reaching into the mid 90's the adjusted altitude was upwards of 10,000 feet making tuning very difficult for the competitors.
This year's event was a full day of action as the Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Drag Racing Series hit the track first thing in the morning with racing in Top Diesel, Pro Stock, Pro Street, Super Street, 10.90 Index, Super Diesel, Sportsman and Big Rig Bracket.
In the Super Street class presented by Industrial Injection, Phillip Franklin grabbed his 2nd victory of the season as he defeated his Truck Source Diesel boss, Chris Buhidar, in the final round. The 10.90 Index class saw Ray Ross from San Antonio hold on for his 2nd victory of the season. Sportsman Diesel saw Kolton Chadd get the win and Dan Zelten was the winner in the Super Diesel class presented by ARP. Mike Skinner was the big winner in Pro Street.
On Saturday night the fans witnessed the first sled pull at Bandimere Speedway in over 30 years! In the Pro Stock presented by South Bend Clutch, Tom Hansen was the winner for the 3rd year in a row. Local guy, Rocky Horn, was the top puller in Limited Pro Stock class. in the Super Farm Tractor class Jeff Siebert and his new tractor got the victory.
The NHRDA will now head east to St. Louis for the NHRDA Midwest Truckin' Nationals on June 24th at Gateway Motorsports Park.
